  • Optional
  • This field serves to record both the original source for reprinted stories and known reprints for original stories. To easily distinguish between the two, the first word in this field must be either "from" or "in".
  • If you know a story is a reprint but don't know the exact source you can index it as "from ?" and then include whatever partial information you know.
  • Most details about the reprint (such as editing or a title change) belong in the Notes field. Short notes of less than 10 words can be put in square brackets after the reprint info.
  • If the source/reprint story is already indexed in the GCD, use the exact same series title already in the database to aid in cross-referencing and to aid in future data conversion.
  • Multiple reprints are separated by a semicolon (;) and only appear in the index for the comic being reprinted. In other words, you can have multiple "in"s but only one "from". The exception is when a comic is altered when it is reprinted and then the altered version is reprinted.
  • Format for comics reprinted from or in other comics is: Series Title (Original publisher, YYYY series) #number (optional exact date of publication) [optional short notes].
  • Format for strip reprints is: from Strip Title Sunday or Daily as applicable (Syndicate) YYYY.MM.DD - YYYY.MM.DD [optional short notes]
  • Format for reprints from web comics is: from Strip Title (website) YYYY.MM.DD - YYYY.MM.DD [retrieved YYYY.MM.DD, optional short notes]. The "retrieved" date is the date that you checked the website to see the strip. This is useful for finding evidence of it later if the site is removed.
  • Examples:

* in Famous First Edition (DC, 1974 series) #C-61 (1979); in Superman Archives (DC, 1989 series) vol. 1 (1989); in Superman #1 [Masterpiece Edition] (DC, 1999 series) #nn (1999); in Millennium Edition: Superman 1 (DC, 2000 series) #nn (December 2000); in Superman in the Forties (DC, 2005 series) #nn; in Superman Chronicles (DC, 2006 series) vol. 1 (2006)
