Awards currently can be added to Creators, Stories, Issues or Series. To add the Award to any of these, the Award must first already exist in the database. To search for the Award, use the 'Everything' search and Filter the results for Awards. If the Award is not found, then it must be created.

Creating Awards

  • Navigate to your Editing page using the "Editing" link at the right of the Search bar on any page. Then click the "Add New" link on your Editing page, then click the "Add Award" button on the resulting page.
  • Enter the name of the Award. The Award's full name should be used if known.
  • Any common names, abbreviations, or acronyms should be entered in the Notes field if known.

Creator Awards

  • Awards are added from the Creator Page using the 'Add Award' button.
  • Select the name of the Award that the named Creator has earned from the drop down list.
  • Enter the Specific Name of the Award that the Creator won.
    • Example: Best Writer

Story, Issue or Series Award

  • Navigate to the Award page
  • Click on the 'Add Award' button
  • Search for and select the Story, Issue or Series.
  • Enter the name of the Award.
    • Example: Best Humor Comic

Award Nominations

  • There is no additional structured method to add Award nominations, but by a vote it was agreed that they can be added.
  • This applies to works/creators/etc that the organization announces as nominations or short list. If the general public was asked to for recommendations, only announced short list or finalists may be recorded. If the nominations are announced but not the winners, they may all be listed as nominations.
  • Examples:
    • 2020 Eisner Awards, Best Writer
      • Bobby Curnow, Ghost Tree (IDW)
      • MK Reed and Greg Means, Penny Nichols (Top Shelf)
      • Lewis Trondheim, Stay (Magnetic Press); Maggy Garrisson (SelfMadeHero)
      • G. Willow Wilson, Invisible Kingdom (Berger Books/Dark Horse); Ms. Marvel (Marvel)
      • Chip Zdarsky, White Trees (Image); Daredevil, Spider-Man: Life Story (Marvel); Afterlift (comiXology Originals)
