Email Lists

Motion: The Grand Comic-Book Database Project provides multiple e-mail mailing lists for communication among its members. Each of these lists is utilized for a specific purpose in supporting the goals of the group.

These lists are:

GCD-Project The GCD-Project e-mail mailing list is a resource provided by the Grand Comic-Book Database Project (http://www.comics.org) for use as an indexing resource for the Project. Postings considered on-topic for this list include anything directly related to the indexing of comic books for the database such as questions about indexing, missing credits, or creator identification. This list is also used for official GCD business, such as administrative updates, announcements to the membership, Board elections, etc. Subscription instructions and a brief overview of the list can be found at the Grand Comic-Book Database Project web site at http://www.comics.org. Posters are encouraged to focus discussion on the topics outlined in the preceding paragraph and encouraged to mark those posts that do NOT relate to the list charter with an off-topic (OT) tag in the subject line. Posters are also encouraged to keep the subject line current as a courtesy to other posters.

GCD-Tech The GCD-Tech e-mail mailing list is a resource provided by the Grand Comic-Book Database Project (http://www.comics.org) for use as a technical resource for the Project. Postings considered on-topic for this list include the more technical aspects of the Project such as database design, hardware and software specifications, or feature beta testing. Subscription instructions and a brief overview of the list can be found at the Grand Comic-Book Database Project web site at http://www.comics.org. Posters are encouraged to focus discussion on the topics outlined in the preceding paragraph and encouraged to mark those posts that do NOT relate to the list charter with an off-topic (OT) tag in the subject line. Posters are also encouraged to keep the subject line current as a courtesy to other posters.

GCD-Chat The GCD-Chat e-mail mailing list is a resource provided by the Grand Comic-Book Database Project (http://www.comics.org) for use as a venue for members to discuss the comic book medium. Postings considered on-topic for this list include anything related to comic books such as discussions or reviews of creators, characters or stories; history of the medium, industry, and marketplace; fandom; collecting; continuity; comics-related properties in other media; comics as pop culture; etc. Subscription instructions and a brief overview of the list can be found at the Grand Comic-Book Database Project web site at http://www.comics.org. Posters are encouraged to focus discussion on the topics outlined in the preceding paragraph and encouraged to mark those posts that do NOT relate to the list charter with an off-topic (OT) tag in the subject line. Posters are also encouraged to keep the subject line current as a courtesy to other posters.
