The ISBN as printed on the item.

  • We do not use this field for numbering systems other than ISBN.
  • The checkbox "Has Isbn" at a Series record determines whether individual issues can have ISBNs entered.
  • If both ISBN 10 and ISBN 13 are listed, they are separated with a semi-colon. Example: "978-0-307-29063-2; 0-307-29063-8".
  • A SBN, the 9-digit predecessor of ISBN, can also be entered, but it needs to be a valid one.
  • On the compare page a note will say if the number is a valid ISBN/SBN. Also a link to WorldCat will appear for valid ISBNs.
