In addition to the general credit formatting rules, the following apply specifically to the script field.
- Required for Comic Story sequences, Optional on all other types of sequences.
- This field includes writer, plotter, scripter, adapter, translator and any similar function. If included without notes it assumes plot and script contribution.
- For "Cover" sequences:
- When the cover includes scripted material that would otherwise qualify for indexing as a comics story or cartoon if it was not located on the cover, the scripter of such sequence shall be credited if known or designated by a question mark if unknown. Such credit shall be given even when it is determined that the scripter of this material is an editor of the book.
- For all other cases, this field will be left empty and the "No Script" field checked.
- Examples:
- The editor will be credited for the script: https://www.comics.org/issue/17887/cover/4/
- The script field will get a question mark (until such time as the scripter is determined): https://www.comics.org/issue/212710/cover/4/
- This will get "no script": https://www.comics.org/issue/2447459/
