Setting maximum synopsis length to 600 characters
PROBLEM AND DISCUSSION: Since February 2010 there's been discussion concerning the length of a synopsis. In our present guidelines seen here

PROPOSAL: In our guidelines concerning Synopsis a fifth bullet is added before the Example bullet, stating this:
